"TV Generation is the fourth LP from Control Freaks, arriving four years after its predecessor. Given the people involved—members of The Rip Offs, Supercharger, Zodiac Killers, and Losin’ Streaks—and the band’s track record so far, the sonic direction here holds zero surprises. And that’s entirely the point.

This is garage punk rock planted firmly on the right side of simplistic and moronic. Those are compliments. In the overcomplicated reality of 2025, something this reliably unburdened has real value. Control Freaks know exactly what they’re doing, cranking out pogo-ready songs with choruses you can shout along to immediately—or butcher joyfully with out-of-tune “ooohs” in the background.
