"...Released on April 8, 1977, “Sin After Sin” marks Judas Priest’s third studio album and a pivotal moment in the evolution of both the band and heavy metal as a music genre. Positioned between the early bluesy rock influences of their first two records and the more aggressive and fast-paced sound that would define their later works, “Sin After Sin” is a testament to the band’s innovative spirit and a major step in their history that was expected to be eternally brilliant.

The album was released by Columbia Records and was their first on a major label. The first two records were released by Gull, but Priest were unhappy with her lack of financial support. Their previous album, ‘Sad Wings of Destiny’, caught the attention of CBS and with the help of new manager David Hemmings, Priest were signed and given a £60,000 budget for their next record, which was decided to be titled ‘ Sin After Sin” taken from the lyrics in the song “Genocide”."
